Joshua Tree Wedding and Elopement Photographer Joshua Tree Elopement: Everything You Need to Know to Get Married in the Desert
If you’ve made it here, chances are Joshua Tree has already touched your heart.
Maybe it’s the surreal landscapes, the golden light, or the desire to live a wedding that’s intimate, free, and real.
This place draws in people who want more than an event — they want an experience.
And we’re here to guide you every step of the way.
If you’re going to live one of the most emotional days of your life, you need someone who knows how to tell that story right. That’s where we come in.
We’ve photographed weddings in all 50 U.S. states — yes, we actually did a full-blown wedding photography tour across the country! But there’s one place that stole our hearts: Joshua Tree. We’ve documented over 359 couples in this magical desert, and counting.
What do they all have in common? They wanted more than just pretty pictures. They wanted to feel. To laugh, to cry, to dance in the middle of the desert — no scripts, no pressure. Just connection.
We know the best times for light, the most magical (and secret!) spots in the park, and more importantly, how to guide you through this wild (and beautiful) elopement world. From picking the right location to that deep breath before saying “I do” — we’ve got you.
If you’re in love with Joshua Tree and want a unique, honest, and heart-filled experience — we’re here for that.
Yep, if you want to get married inside Joshua Tree National Park, you’ll need a special permit. It usually costs around $120 and can be requested through the official park site.
But don’t worry — when you elope with us, we help you take care of all of that. No stress, no confusion — just support and guidance from day one.
Want something easy and intentional? We’ve got you covered. All of it.
Our elopement packages in Joshua Tree include photography + ceremony officiant + help with your permit + timeline planning + day-of coordination — and if you want, we can also recommend trusted florists, stylists, Airbnbs, and even your post-ceremony dinner.
We design the day around your style (boho, modern, minimal, offbeat — you name it), and we’ll help you plan every detail for the best light, the most peaceful spots, and a vibe that feels totally, unapologetically you.
With us, you’re not just another couple. You’re the main character in a story we get to live and tell — together.
Photos out here aren’t just beautiful — they’re intense, emotional, and full of soul. The golden light, the endless skies, those unreal rock formations… everything in Joshua Tree sets the stage for epic moments.
And the best part? We don’t fake a single thing.
Every image is born from your real connection. The wind in your hair, a spontaneous laugh, that breath after “I do.” These are the kinds of memories that stay — and we know how to capture them honestly.
This park is massive and filled with magical places — and we know it like the back of our cameras. Some of our favorites (and our couples’ faves too) include:
Hidden Valley – dramatic views, easy access
Cap Rock – stunning golden hour light
Arch Rock – mystical and intimate
Keys View – insane panoramic desert views
But the real gems? Our secret locations, far from the touristy routes, where you can exchange vows in peace — just you, your love, and the wide-open sky.
There are so many dreamy places to stay around here — from modern desert cabins to retro trailers in the middle of nowhere.
Many of our couples choose an Airbnb to get ready, say their vows, and even celebrate after — all in one place.
Rustic-chic with a fire pit? Mid-century modern with a pool? Vintage vibes with a starry sky? We’ve got a list of tested and loved spots we’re happy to share.
Let’s talk numbers. An elopement in Joshua Tree can be super flexible depending on your vision, but here’s a general breakdown:
Permit: ~$120
Full experience with us (photo, planning, officiant, timeline help): starting at $3,500
Airbnb: between $200 and $600 per night
Extras like flowers, cake, dinner, etc.: totally up to you
In total, you can expect to spend around $4,000–$7,000 for a full-on, stress-free, deeply intentional day — fully documented in the most honest, cinematic way.
Simple, but Deep
We talk like old friends:
You share your dreams, fears, and the playlist that would play in a getaway scene.
We create a natural flow:
We plan a day that makes sense to you — the places, the light, the details that feel real.
We live the day as an adventure:
From sand-stained jeans to wine glasses at sunset — we follow wherever the magic takes us.
We deliver photos that hurt (in the best way):
So you’ll always remember that love — in the desert — is a living, breathing thing.
Your desert story starts here.
Before we dive into timelines, light, or flowers in your hair — we want to know you.
Fill out this quick form and tell us who you are, what moves you, and what kind of magic you’re chasing.
We’ll turn that into a real experience.
We are Grasi + Dani + Otto + Luiz, a family of wedding photographers.
We are outdoor enthusiasts and travelers living our best life.
16 years ago we found in wedding photography a way to create beautiful, heart-stirring, meaningful art as we fulfill our love for adventure, being connected to nature, people, love, and as a family!
We traveled full time with our home on wheals, all across the 50 States photographing love for over 8 years. When the world stopped in 2020, we chose southern California, Joshua Tree, to call home and be our base as it holds such a special place in our hearts.
If you are looking for a perfect wedding or elopement destination Joshua Tree National Park is the one. Still very privet and secluded, the desert landscape is covered in that amplified feeling of quieter moments, the meaningful moments behind the pretty and perfect, behind the grand and epic.
All uniqueness of plants and rocks, the night skies and rich cultural history.
It gives you the atmosphere of a perfect marriage of adventure but still elevated and romantic.
